THE PROBLEM:

India produces over 100,000 metric tonnes of waste per day, a large percentage of which comes from the corporate space.

The sheer volume of trash produced is difficult for city-municipalities to handle, resulting in mass landfills (72 - 78% of waste) of unsegregated, mixed waste.

In general, there is an intrinsic lack of awareness about waste segregation, and employees lack incentives to segregate trash.

OUR SOLUTION

Binit! is a waste management company focused on solving the problem of trash segregation in India by introducing automated trashcans that will determine how to categorize each individual piece of trash thrown into it using vision-based machine learning.

TRADITIONALLY,

Trash segregation is done at the trashcan by the user through multiple receptacles labeled with different trash types eg. paper, plastic, metal, etc. The problem is that users often do not know which bin a piece of trash should go in

Binit! partners with companies and provides employee incentives for using the trashcans, and takes away the logistic burden by selling the recyclable and compostable trash directly to partnering recycling companies and NGOs.
